The Sartorialist

A few weeks ago, My friend posted this short documentary about "The Sartorialist".
It was the first time that I heard about him but after watching the film it was as if I've known him for years. He explained his craft with such simplicity and discipline which was what struck me the most. He takes photographs with such authenticity and redefined it with a whole new context. His sincerity was what i became so fascinated with. He takes pictures not with his hands, nor with his camera, but with his heart. I was struck when he said that it was his lack of knowledge in photography that led him to its very core and how he just approaches the world and patiently waiting for that right photograph. It helped me realize that there is learning beyond the school walls. And sometimes, It's those things that you learn outside an institution that teach you the most. He's not just another guy with a camera and calls himself a photographer, He let his craft define him.

Knowing that there are still people out there who pursue their craft with their heart was just what i needed to affirm myself. Affirm myself of which path to step on and which direction to go.

  1. There are many things to be envious about, passion the most elusive of them. Why is it that people who are passionate with what they do become so much more interesting?
